LAWS OF ATTRACTION: ISSUE 21, 2023

Laws of Attraction explores the mysterious ways in which we connect, love, and find one another. There is no singular way to explain why or how we choose each other— platonically, erotically, or romantically. From savior complexes and mutually destructive bonds, to para-social relationships and twin flames that unleash our inner child, this issue seeks to understand and represent the sensational and bewildering concept of attraction. 

Each shoot depicts a different sort of human connection under the “Law of Attraction”. All elements of styling, hair and makeup, lighting, set design, and photography aim to mold the universe that our characters are transported to in their emotional experiences. There are references to the meta-verse, classical tragedy, and even biblical analogies that drive the story of our characters’ bonds forward. 

Do we choose what feels ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, or do we choose with our mind or our heart? Better yet, do we even choose at all, or do our fates, simply choose us?
