BUT A STAGE depicts the frightening reality that we may not truly know each other at all—not even ourselves. Are we merely performers? Is this life ‘but a stage’? Will we be putting on the same show till the day we die? While there is pain in the performance, there is also a melancholy comfort in knowing we aren’t completely alone on this stage.
